WILLEMSKANTINE
The Avatar Project
WILLEMSKANTINE, an Amsterdam-based creative studio founded in 2017, creates photography and film that balances between documentary and fashion, with a strong focus on celebrating diversity.
Challenge
Turn WILLEMSKANTINE’s concept of the “working-class hero”, the creative who is always on the move and always at work, into a genderless avatar that could stand for anyone under the balaclava.
Solution
I sculpted an athletic, non-binary body in DAZ 3D and Cinema4D with a stiff, action-figure stance, as if the avatar had just come out of the box. I dressed it in a mix of office attire and workwear from the client’s references, a helmet, night vision, a Rimowa case, a Sony VX1000 camera, and the signature blue balaclava, and simulated the garments in CLO and Marvelous Designer.
Results
Delivered a fully dressed 3D avatar that captures WILLEMSKANTINE’s duality between creativity and gear, form and function. Used as their mascot on their website and socials.
